QuiltDraft was developed through a multidisciplinary collaboration combining practical quilting experience, professional pattern development, sewing expertise, engineering precision, and modern software-development methods.

Our development experience includes:

• An experienced quilter who understands how quilt designs must translate into fabric and seams
• An experienced sewist with practical knowledge of construction, accuracy, and real-world sewing challenges
• A professional pattern maker with decades of drafting, grading, layout, printing, and pattern-preparation experience
• A German engineer bringing structured problem-solving, technical accuracy, and careful attention to detail
• Extensive software testing focused on clear workflows, dependable output, and practical use by real quilt designers

Every major feature is considered from several perspectives: Does it make sense mathematically? Can it be sewn? Can it be printed accurately? Can a pattern designer edit and publish the result?

QuiltDraft was not created as a generic drawing program adapted to quilting. It was built around the actual process of designing, preparing, printing, and sewing quilt patterns.
